Discord Notifier for EmDash, from install to Pro features.

Install

1. Make sure your site can run sandboxed plugins (see EmDash's Installing plugins).
2. Set EMDASH_ENCRYPTION_KEY on your site. Webhook URLs and license keys are stored as encrypted secrets.
3. In the EmDash admin open Registry, search for Discord Notifier, review the permissions and install. Its registry page has the release details.

Connect Discord

1. In Discord open Channel settings → Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook and copy the URL.
2. In EmDash open Discord Notifier, paste it in Discord webhook URL and save.
3. Press Send test message.

Only URLs like https://discord.com/api/webhooks/… are accepted.

Autosaves are intentionally not reported.

Pro features

Enter your key under License → Activate license. Activation registers the site with LemonSqueezy: a Pro key covers one site, an Extended key any number. Use Deactivate on this site to move a Pro key elsewhere.

Separate channels

Give content, comments, media and forms their own webhook. Anything without one uses the default webhook.

Collection filter

Comma-separated collection slugs, for example posts, pages. Only these collections notify.

Mentions and templates

Mention text is added above every message, for example <@&ROLE_ID> for a role or <@USER_ID> for a user. The message template supports {event}, {title}, {collection}, {author} and {url}. Only the mention types you enter can ping anyone; comment and form text never can.

Digest

Daily (09:00 UTC) or weekly (Monday 09:00 UTC) summary of the notifications sent, posted to the content channel.

Form submissions

EmDash’s Forms plugin does not expose a hook other plugins can subscribe to, so submissions are relayed through its per-form webhook:

1. Open Discord Notifier and copy the URL under Form submissions relay.
2. In the Forms plugin, paste it into the form’s Webhook URL.

The URL carries a secret token. If it leaks, press Regenerate token and update your forms. You can hide field values from Discord with Include form field values.

Delivery log

The Delivery log page lists the last 200 notifications and lets you retry failed ones.

Permissions

Permission	Why
content:read	Required by the content hooks; resolves public URLs.
media:read	Required by the media upload hook.
users:read	Required by every EmDash comment hook.
network:request	discord.com, discordapp.com (messages) and api.lemonsqueezy.com (license checks).

Pro also exposes one public route, /_emdash/api/plugins/discord-notifier/forms, protected by the secret token.

Troubleshooting

• Nothing arrives: check the event toggle, that Send notifications is on, and the Delivery log (Pro) or your server log.
• “Not a Discord webhook URL”: copy the URL again from Discord; it must start with https://discord.com/api/webhooks/.
• Secret settings error: set EMDASH_ENCRYPTION_KEY (emdash secrets generate).
• Rate limits: Discord allows about 5 messages per 2 seconds per webhook. A bulk publish may drop some notifications.
